Maeve, Veda, Winnie, Mina, and Felicity are all incoming freshman this year at North East High School. Each girl has lived her whole life feeling isolated from her peers, having her own unique reasons for struggling to connect with those around her. However, this year, they will all discover that the empathy these experiences have granted them may be far more valuable than they ever could have imagined.

Each chapter of this story takes place from the perspective of a different one of the five girls, granting insight into each girl's home life, manner of thinking, and other troubles she may face on the regular. There are six chapters: one for each girl, as well as an epilogue. Depending on your reading speed, it will likely take you somewhere between forty-five minutes to two hours to complete (estimates based on times it took beta-readers to complete.) The story is entirely linear; there are no dialogue choices, and there is only one ending.
